03Billing questions
- How am I billed?
- A single per-user price, plus VAT, paid monthly by card. You add the card when your workspace is set up, and the first charge is taken only when your 14-day trial ends. After that the plan renews monthly, billing the seats you actually have.
- How does the 14-day trial work?
- Every new workspace starts with 14 days of the full product, whichever plan you picked: every feature unlocked and a shared workspace AI pool sized for a proper evaluation. We email you three days and one day before it ends, stating the exact first charge. To cancel, press Cancel subscription under Settings, then Billing; the trial still runs its full two weeks and nothing is charged.
- How do seats work?
- Every user is a seat, and every seat is the same price: £29, £49, or £99 a month on Starter, Pro, and Ultra. There is no minimum, so one person pays for one seat. Inviting someone states the price before anything bills, the seat is billed from the moment they join, and deactivating a user removes their seat from your next invoice. Each seat also carries its own AI allowance, so a bigger team never means less AI per head.
- What are AI tokens?
- Tokens are how AI work is measured: drafting an email, researching a company, or running an analysis all draw from one shared monthly pool for your workspace. Each seat adds its plan’s allowance to that pool: 3M tokens on Starter, 8M on Pro, 20M on Ultra, per user per month. Because the pool is shared rather than per-person, a couple of heavy users alongside lighter ones works fine: everyone draws from the same allowance, so you never need different plans for different people. You are never billed for going over. At the cap, AI generation pauses rather than running up a surprise bill.
- What is bring your own key?
- Ultra workspaces can run the AI on their own provider key: your own Anthropic or OpenAI account, or a self-hosted endpoint. That lane bills £79 per user a month, and there is then no token allowance and no cap; usage runs on your key at your provider's rates, under your own data agreement. It exists for teams who need uncapped usage, their own compliance terms, model choice, or a committed cloud spend, not as a cheaper Ultra: with your own provider bill on top, most teams pay less on standard Ultra. You switch it on under Settings, then AI, by saving and validating your key; the price changes from that moment, prorated automatically, and switches back the same way if you remove it.
- Can I change tier later?
- Any time, in either direction, right from your workspace: Settings, then Billing, then Change plan. Upgrades apply immediately and invoice the prorated difference at once; downgrades apply immediately and credit the unused time against your next invoice. Your data, settings, and history carry over untouched.
